LT1 12 deg of Retard

So my new OPTI was bad, go figure.

I pulled my 96 4.3 and installed a 96 LT1 with aluminum heads.
Reinstalled the 96 4.3 opti after finding out the new one was bad.
Installed 94 knock sensor and computer.

It fires up but is chugging, it doesn't through any codes but watching
the scan tool it's pulling 12deg of timing?

Was the optical sensor different for the 94 ie different ohm's?

I've heard of people putting a 350 computer on the 4.3 it runs lean but
runs, my point will the 4.3 computer run the 350?

Re: LT1 12 deg of Retard

Call your local autoparts store and see if the opti's are the same part number. Or look it up online at autozone, advance, etc. As long as they have the parts, then they should have store part numbers. Or could call a GM parts dealership. Another possibility is that the harness is different on the 4.3 than the LT1. 3rd possibility is that the knock sensor isn't hooked up or is bad, if I remember right, the retard is pulled to the max all of the time if the knock sensor is disconnected.
