Two specific questions regarding an LSX swap (throttle cable and fuel lines)

So as I got some more things removed from the stock setup tonight, two things caught my eye. The first:

There's a hard line that is bundled in with the two fuel lines with a clip. It goes into a rubber hose that goes into the black evap canister behind the driver side headlight. Where does this go to? Do I need to remove it, since apparently you don't use the evap system with an LSX swap? And if so, HOW do you remove it? It looks like it goes down behind the block via the passenger side inner fender well, but I can't see where it goes.

The second thing:

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you remove the stock throttle cable? It's got a black clip thing that sits on the firewall, does that come off, or do I need to get under the dash and remove it straight from the gas pedal and feed it thru the firewall?

that hardline is part of the evap system and runs into your thirdgen tank. It is where the gas vapors get sucked in through.

All those lines are bolted onto the subframe with tabs. You can unbolt all those tabs and slowly bend back that line if you wish, i just left mine there (4th gen tank on my car so no more thirdgen evap)

Stock pedal has 2 tabs on the sides of the big black grommet/clip thing thats in the firewall that prevents it from popping out. You can work it out with a screw driver or go under the car and squeeze the taps.

Then just need to slip the top off the actual pedal for it all to come out

Thanks for the quick response! So would it be a good idea to cap off the end of that hard line, since it goes back to the tank?

When I pulled the evap system on my car years ago I just put a tiny carb filter on the end of that line in the enginebay to get rid of the gas smell I would get. Before I dropped the motor in I pulled the whole line out and did the same thing but back at the tank.

No experience on whether thats good or bad because I haven't driven the car yet.

U best bet is to get rid of all that stock exap lines ......go with a 4th gen plastic tank with exap built into it already..

Meh, that's more work that is not absolutely necessary. I just had the tank out to put a Walbro 255 in there, I don't feel like taking it back out just to put a plastic tank in there. If I can get away with just removing the lines up until the tank and putting a filter, that would be great.

A filter is not necessary, a breather is

Option B is to cap the line and install a vented gas cap

I was going to say just put in the 4th gen tank and be done with it...but you've already upgraded your fuel pump. So it wouldnt make sense right now. I would definatly, at the very least, remove the line back to the tank. Right now my 4th gen tank's evap line is just sorta hanging there up by the tank. No problems so far...cant even smell the gas really. No odd pressures in my tank as of yet. Im not sure how well the vent gas caps work...but Ive heard of people using them with sucess.

Hmm I never thought of a vented gas cap. I bet that would work great. I think I will still cut back the line to the tank though. Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it.
