Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

Can we assume the engine and trans came out of an f-body?

There is a sticky in the top section of this forum (now the LTX/LSX engine swap sub-forum, where this belongs) with the basics of the swap.

You can use your original engine mounts if you get or fabricate adapter plates that bolt onto the LS1 engine, and you are willing to not use the factory LS1 AC compressor.

Transmission mount will either need an aftermarket piece, or be modified.

Driveshafts are the same length whether 3rd gen (TH700 or T5) or 4th gen. There are different varieties of steel and aluminum driveshafts that are the same length, though.
