How to: Securing a GM LS1 throttle cable to your firewall

My dad and I came up with an easy solution for the throttle cable not fitting right in the hole on the firewall. You want it to be secured down so it doesn't have any wiggle room.

I went to a hardware store and got a large, but thin, fender washer. We took a big drill bit that was the same diameter as the mounting clip on the cable and drilled out the center of the washer. Then we took a smaller bit and drilled two holes next to the big one so we could use some small self-tapping screws to anchor it down to the firewall.

Here you can see how nicely it fits on the clip on the throttle cable.

And finally, a picture showing it installed, after we drilled two new holes in the firewall for the two screws. It is now secured nice and tight.
