optispark used with a carb?

iv read that its possible to still use it with a carb setup but it would be limited to running a certain way.
the reason i ask is i cant seem to find the block off plate online anywhere
is there anyway to get rid of the opti any other way?

I have seen the block off plate, it worsd fine, but you can leave the opti on and it will be fine.

There's no benefit to keeping it. And no need. you can probably find the plug just by calling Scoggin-Dickey.

Re: optispark used with a carb?

A cheaper option may be to make your own plug - something like a piece of sheet metal/aluminum and rtv. However, if you do that then will need a universal timing pointer.
Also keep in mind you will need to buy an aftermarket balancer with timing marks to set the timing since stock balancer doesn't have them. For the balancer, Professional Products makes one that comes with a keyed hub that is under $100, at least on ebay. It comes with optional spacers for different years and models so it will work on any LT1 setup. ATI makes the best balancer but they are expensive and probably not really needed unless you have a lot more HP than stock or a supercharger.
