LT1 Swap Exhaust Setup Questions. Headers, X pipe. Mufflers,

Hello,
I will be finishing my project in april.

I am looking to buy headers, I am using one set of o2 sensors (pre cat)
and would like to know if there are any d port headers with the bungs for the sensors already there.
I am not using any of the smog equipment. I have had my pcm programmed by lt1pcmtuning.com

If not I will just weld the bungs in.
I am under the impression that Hedman -68469 and 68479 are my best choices. Any Other DPort Headers to consider?
Hows the clearance on the long tbes? Are they worth it? What kind of power difference is there really?

I am having custom dual exhaust bent up at a shop with a mandrel.Since the header ends at 3" should I go true dual 3 inch all the way? or 2 and a half?

I want to use one of the mini x pipes, such as this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T304-...Q5fCarQ5fParts

Are there any spots that I should buy a piece of flexpipe for? x

I want a nice quiet muiffler(s) that arent too loud at idle and normal driving speed . any suggestions?

Are there any complete, or catbacks that I should consider?

thank you

Re: LT1 Swap Exhaust Setup Questions. Headers, X pipe. Mufflers,

Most 1-3/4" primaries will clear the D-ports of the LT1 heads. I mocked a set of SLP's up to a set of LT1 heads and it cleared perfectly.

Re: LT1 Swap Exhaust Setup Questions. Headers, X pipe. Mufflers,

For longtubes, most go with Hedman or Hooker. Doug's longtubes are very similar to Hooker except are less expensive and use thicker material. Doug's and Hooker are so similar that the Mufflex ypipe will work with either. The rumor is Doug's and Hooker were designed by the same guy.

Below are some pluses and deltas that I see with different longtubes. The one you should choose is the one that you think has the most important thing or things you are looking for in headers
.
Hooker/Dougs Longtubes
+ 1-3/4 primaries
+ Have the best clearance for custom a/c hoses for LT1 f-body brackets
+ Mufflex makes a y-pipe for them that can work on catbacks up to 4" and wouldn't require custom exhaust system to be fabbed up
- Not D-Port flanges
- Not as good ground clearance as the Hedmans
.
Hedman Longtubes
+ Has D-port flanges
+ Very good ground clearance for longtubes
- 1-5/8" primaries
- Custom ypipe or custom true dual setup must be fabricated
