lt1 swap attempt

so i'd like to know exactly what id need to make this swap possible. can i use the same 305 harness? can i use the built 700r4 still? will everything bolt right in? just wanna make sure everything needed can be done before i start something

I suggest reading the sticky's. There is far more info in there, than you can hope to understand in a day if you devoted 24 hours to it.

But the basics.

Your 305 harness is mostly useless. You will need some connectors off of it to splice into the new harness from the LT1 be it a factory harness, or a conversion harness. (There are no truly plug and play harnesses out there, despite what advertisers tell you).

I used a 4L60E, so I didn't bother with looking into transmission issues.

Yes you can but if your engine is not a 93 than you need to get the throttle/tv cable bracket.Also need a vaccum switch for lock up.All can b e found on Ebay.I m going with a 700r4 for my Monte LT1 Swap.Im useing a stand alone harness from jimsperformance.com with the lock up vaccum switch built into it.
