Plugs on underside of LT1 intake - how does LT1 really work?
I have been trying to clean out my LT1 intake after it was media blasted and powdercoated for over an hr with compressed air and still didnt do it.
I removed the plugs from the underside of the LT1 intake and

there was sooo much &*^(*& in there its ridiculous. I am going to wash it all out real good this weekend.
What is the channel behind the center plug for - it has the most crap in it.
The other 4 have two small holes each that go into each runner but not sure what this is for.
I imagine it may be for equalizing pressures and what not.... anyone know how all these really work?

The center hole went to the EGR passage. I forget where the other 4 went. All 5 need to be plugged. Do not plug the narrow slot, it goes to the PCV
I went on a fact finding mission with an old intake I had
Here is my SBC coverted intake

And the spare with the floor removed

So what did you do here...
you blocked off the factory LT1 intake holes and then you mounted the LT1 over a different intake manidolf in which you had those holes drilled and tapped?
looks interesting, fill me in.
I just found a website for abrasive flow matching which you can use to smooth out your intake to a polished like finish all the way through just just where you can reach with a dremel tool type deal.
looks interesting but very expensive.

The old holes were filled and a SBC gasket used to align the new hole locations
The point was showing the plugs and how they needed to be replaced
