lt1 swap/ride hieght

I'm in the process of swapping an lt1 into my gta and was wondering how much higher the front end will sit.I'm not really sure about the weight difference.I'd like it to be lower than stock and was thinking the eibach sportlines might do it.if anyone has been through this your thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: lt1 swap/ride hieght

Iron or alum headed LT1 is comparable to the iron SBC. Within 50lbs fully dressed

Ride height should be the same. To drop it like you would a stock 3rd gen

The ride height was pretty much the same after my swap.

Alum LSx engines drop a considerable amount of weight and generally the ride height is noticably affected. Most cut coils or get drop springs lower than they actually want

Re: lt1 swap/ride hieght

I didn't notice any difference on my LT1 swap.

I don't recommend sportlines unless you really like the look of a 2" drop. Sportlines are for looks and the pro kit is for handling performance. You can read more about them in the suspension section.
