Headers?? 3rd gen camaro LS1

Has anyone found a solid alternative for the clearance situation for LS1 headers on a third gen camaro?? Besides the custom made long tubes from hawks do any others fit??

Unless you're willing to modify a set of Gen I SBC or BBC 3rd gen headers, the Hawks headers appear to be the only long tube option available.

There are 4th gen shorties that will fit. The reviews on them aren't glowing with respect to power gains over stock factory manifolds, but I suspect the comparisons have only been done with the 1-5/8" primary types and not the 1-3/4" shorties that are available. I haven't been able to find anything definitive on that.
