Re: tightest fitting headers?
I never ran those, I ran shorty's (Edelbrock TES). The last bolt on the passenger side was always fun! I was running a/c so it was a tight fit. From what I understand long tubes just hang low. So if your cars lowered it may not be a good idea.

Re: tightest fitting headers?
yeah i know but part of me wants them for the max performance and the sound. Lol come on thats one of the funnest parts of having a v8! So still looking for someone with long tubes that fit tight
Re: tightest fitting headers?
I heard hedman's longtubes have good ground clearance but that makes sense since they have 1 5/8 primaries.
If you are going with 3.5/4 inch exhaust, the exhaust after the longtubes is probably going to hang lower than the headers, no matter what header you go with. With that in mind you might as well go with the hooker or dougs 1 3/4" primary longtube headers. Plus, Mufflex has a ypipe for their 3/5"/4" exhaust system to work with either the hookers or the dougs. The hooker and dougs headers are pretty much the same design since they were designed by the same engineer except the dougs are made out of thicker material and cost less. A 3" electric cutout and 3" catback might be a better alternative for ground clearance and still get performance.
On my next exhaust setup I'm planning on going with dougs/hookers ceramic coated longtubes, mufflex or custom made y pipe, 3" or 3.5" cutout and 3" catback.

Re: tightest fitting headers?
i have the heddmans you are looking at, they fit nicely on the motor. i havent got it in the car yet but the ports match perfectly and they seem to be reasonable compared to the oil pan.

hope that helps. and for the record they come with reducers to 2.5". im going to go 2.5 to x pipe and dumped.

Re: tightest fitting headers?
that helps some thank you. But i really need them in the car. I would rather not do single3 inch. Im ,in the long run, planning on making 450whp so thats like 550 crank? I need the flow. I might even do some juice on top of that
