LT1 complete with ECM/Harness
Thanks to anyone who has an answer.
I have an 86 Z28.
What wiring would I have to do if I swapped in an LT1 that has the tranny mounted to it and the full wiring harness/ecm already with it?
I read somewhere that it's only 5 wires, if you already have the LT1 harness/wiring/ECM.
Is this correct? If so, what 5 wires from my third gen are used?
I HATE wiring.
Also, will I have to swap in a 4th gen console, to work with the new tranny shifter location, or is it the same as the 700r4?

You can do a quick search for the specific pin locations but your orange and pink wires are the most important, besides your grounds of course. The shifter should not change, especially if the car already had a 700r4. All you need to do is swap the shifter brackets on the transmissions and the stock shift cable will bolt to the 4l60e.

So I just have to change the locations of some wires that are in the plug that are in my third gen and wire in the wires from the LT1 into the "engine side" of the plug accordingly?
I assume the plugs are shaped differently or the wires are routed differently in the plugs, between the 97 Camaro and the 86 Camaro.

Thanks. I'll just read and read until I understand it. I HATE wiring.
