LT1 swap question
What's the advantage of swapping in an entire LT1 engine with harness and all that, as opposed to just building a 350 roller block and putting it in there?
Any ideas on this?

Re: LT1 swap question
I'm doing the same swap right now, and one of the main reasons I did it was because my camaro is my daily driver, so im looking for both performance and a decent mpg. I mean 300 horse and 325 torque with around the same gas mileage as my old 305 gets, thats not a bad deal to me. It will be more costly, but with a good tune it will be more effecient. And another advantage if your wanting to get into tuning, the computers for the LT1's are reprogrammable and dont need a chip to be burned.
Re: LT1 swap question
Cost and efficiency
LT1s make good power stock and even more with a few cheap mods. They are also newer with internal and manufacturing upgrades along with sequential injection, electronic trans mission control, digital cruise, tons of tuning tables etc
You can also hop on the highway with 4.10 gears behind a 6 speed and still hammer out 25ish MPG in the vicinity of 300hp
If cost isnt the issue and you just want easy power, then stick to the tried and true SBC
