LT1 into a 92 rs
Ok, I got ahold of a LT1 out of a 94 firebird, that im going to put into my 92 rs. Im gonna be using it with my stock 700r4 for now. Ive got a couple questions though,
What radiator setup will I need to use? I definetaly cant use the stock setup cuz that deal isnt really even that great for my 305.
Will I be able to use my stock converter? Its got about a 16-1800 stall on it
Thats it for as of the moment, and im sorry if these questions were answered in the stickys somewhere, I looked and couldnt find em

Re: LT1 into a 92 rs
I've used a 1500 stall in my '95 Z28, with 2.73:1 rear gears. It's not an issue. Spend more thought on upgrading the exhaust system.

Re: LT1 into a 92 rs
you can use a third gen radiator or an LT1 fbody radiator, but you want to have dual fans. you could just buy some flex-a-lites or something and put them on your stocker if the core is fine.

Ive got the hedman headersand y-pipe already that from what everybody is sayin will fit. Then the cat is deleted and its got a decent muffler.
I can get a radiator and fan assembly from a 93 bird for 90 bucks from the local junk yard, will that fit?

Re: LT1 into a 92 rs
4th gen radiators are actually smaller than 3rd gen V8's, but will still cool fine. Cooling problems on your LO3 would be from a bad fan switch and/or broken/missing front air dam
Use a 93 LT1 TB or get the TV adapter kit
TV cable from a 93 LT1 or 90-92 TPI 4L60
Vacuum lockup switch from BTO or similar company
Stock converter will work fine
