Re: anyone with a high hp ls1?

The GMMG cars were good performers for their time but now they aren't much. Stage 1 cars are just bolt on cars. Stage 2 are heads and cam cars. Stage 3 was a built 427 C5R block setup. New casting heads and such that are available now can make a MUCH better performing car. Plus everyone thinks that parts made by GMMG are worth gold. They really aren't. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

I've got a pretty healthy LS block in mine. It should put down around 440-450rwhp on a DynoJet (put down 365rwhp on a Mustang dyno). You don't have to spend a fortune on a brand new crate motor to get a lot of power out of these blocks.

What they said. My cam only LQ9 should be about 390rwhp give or take with the XER281HR cam and all the bolt-ons.

Thunder Racing just did a stroked LS1 that put down about 537 rwhp. Spend some time in the dyno subsection of www.ls1tech.com
