LT1 Steam pipe question
Hey guys, I have an LT1 swapped into a 3rd gen trans am. I wanted to run this by everyone and see if this is a problem. I currently do not have heat on the car yet, so the heat return line is capped on the waterpump. Now my radiator hose dosnt have a spot for the steam pipe, can i just hook the heat pressure line into the steam pipe directly? Or will this cause problems like the pump working agaisnt its self?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: LT1 Steam pipe question
steam pipe needs to goto the radiator, that's how it lets the pressure out of the heads and keeps air from being in them.

Re: LT1 Steam pipe question
Might be able to plastic weld a nipple into the plastic side of a regular radiator to give you that provision. It's kinda half-assed, but if you can find a way for it to hold the pressure, then it should work. It would be even better if there was a way it was held on by the inside, like a threaded nipple with a nut on the outside of the plastic end and a nut on the inside, tightened against eachother with a seal so it won't have an issue with holding the pressure and the chance of it snapping off. You would need to take the radiator apart and put it back together for that if there is such a fitting.
