5.3 oil pan
anybody no where i can get an oil pan for the 5.3 ls engine from a 2000 chevy 1500 to fit into an 87 gta? i dont want to pay out the *** for an oil pan

You need to run the LS1 oil pan, and pickup the truck pans hang too low.
That pan is for the standard SBC engines.

hate to be Mr. Buzzkill, but you gotta run the f-body pan. the truck ones hang way too low and you'll crack it the first time you see a speed bump. i didn't want to believe it myself when i first started getting my swap stuff together, but there's no getting by this one (safely at least).

You can chop and weld a truck pan, but lose oil capacity and have to worry about the weld quality and separation over time
Only tried and true is the Fbody pan. Next closest is the the LS2 corvette pan, but its not going to fit a stock K-member short of a big notch or going tubular. Other hotrod pan kits are still too deep
