LT1 fuel problem

I am helping a buddy with a swap and he put a new fuel pump in it (walbro).
It has no FP at the regulator put a new one on, but it will push the gas up to the intake.

My question is could he have wired it up backwards and it still push gas and have no pressure? We can get it to run off started fluid though.

No, wired backwards it wouldn't be able to pull fuel since the return line is not stuck inside the fuel, just dumps in the top of the tank. It's possible the regulator is bad.

Ok over the weekend we put a regulator on it still nothing. He has around 65-70 psi on the feed line. But dose not have nothing after the regulator any other ideals?
