I'll give him $3,500 for the engine. He can keep the rest.

Hey, I remember that car! I'd offer $2k for everything but the crappy LT5 engine. It'll never approach an LS9. Mostly I just like the paint job. Had they used 1LE stuff and a Dana 44, I'd offer $3500. But to my recollection, they didn't.

My son and I were looking at that last night (out of curiosity, not interest). The exhaust was interesting, since we just picked up my car from the shop last night.

It looks like it has a Dana 44 rear. Check the 2nd and 3rd pics from the bottom.

I didn't scroll down that far. Anyway, they want $60k, so my bad memory means nothing.

This car keeps showing up on ebay. I remember seeing it a few years ago for sale at $99,000.

Its a nice car, but maybe a $20k at most. Who cares if it was a GM prototype.

No its not an LS9, but the LT5 isn't a terrible engine either. If I recall correctly it makes pretty good power and made a **** ton of it for its day. I don't see anything wrong with it. Unfortunately I wouldn't pay the typical asking price for an LT5 engine. I can get an LSx engine for less and get just as much if not more out of it. As for the rest of the car, its hideous. I hate the wheels, the interior, and the paint is just an absolute atrocity. It is different, but anyone paying more than 10k-15k for this thing is getting ripped off. Even then I'd question the sanity of such a purchase.

LT-5 Engine: Good power, better technology than any of the other GM engines out at the time, Heinous to work on, and ludicrously expensive to maintain/upgrade.

The car is hideous overall.

Re: Interesting "Swap" car for sale in AZ

I saw that car at Carlisle in 2002. It was really a special car in it's day, and being one of the few that GM has released from its heritage collection makes it something special if you're the type who likes to collect that sort of thing.

If I recall, back in 2002 when I photographed it, the car was plain white with black GTA wheels. Much nicer looking back then.

The car is a cool concept and I wouldn't hate it if the paint job and yellow interior accents were gone/different. I still don't think it would be worth the amount of money the seller is asking for it.

I believe I had this car as a Matchbox car when I was little, I wonder if It's still around.
