Hi there again.
I´ve bought 4:th gen pedals for my LS2/T56 conversion. And I´ve also bought a 4:th gen Master cylinder, but the tricky part now is to find out exactly where to drill the holes for the MC in the flimsy 3:rd gen firewall.
Is there anyone who made measurements from when they drilled their holes?
I´ve been looking at all the pics I could find, but it´s not easy to tell for sure anyways
Any help would be greatly appreciated/Robert

Subscribed... I am hoping for the same answer except I have 3rd gen pedals and a tick mater. Taking some measurements with the tick master, the rod off of the piston is 45 deg negative relative to the master mount. The firewall sits at a 10 deg positive angle so I would think that the rod from the pedal should be 35 deg to have proper alignment with the master (subtract 10 from 45). I went ahead and drilled a hole after setting the pedal rod at 35 deg and marking at the firewall.

It seems the hole is down too low and the tick master will have a lot of interference with the wheel well and a mounting hole may be too close to the large aux hole in the firewall.

Oh ****, thats exactly what I don´t want to happen, getting too close to something else etc. I just painted the whole enginebay, so I dont want to have to weld some crappy holes shut and stuff like that.
I think you might be on to something clever with the whole angle measurement thing there.

I mounted the pedals, marked the holes and drilled....easy as that.

actually, I think I drilled the holes with the pedals mounted, I also had a hole saw small enouh to make the hole for it to go through, but I did mark that one before drilling.

I think there may be more room if you have a stock master. The billet mounting block on the tick master is HUGE. Regardless, I know people have installed the tick successfully with maybe minimal persuasion to the wheel well.

When I look at the pictures of where people have drilled the hole for the master, it is definately higher (maybe an inch) than were I measured. I have the 3rd gen pedals mounted and am measuring the pedal rod with a inclinometer to obtain my 35 deg measurement. I am hoping to have the rod alignment with the master pretty much dead nuts, but perhaps you can get away with some a little deflection?

I suppose we could just drill and hope for the best, but I am not really looking to have an issue then re-support the firewall and start all over.

I mounted the 4th gen pedals (I cut off the accelerator pedal, used the 3rd gen unit after "reforming" it). Used the brace that the MC U-bolt goes through as a template.

Wasn't pretty because the spot where the MC goes through was half-way through an existing hole ('82 model car). But, it appears to work.

One more thought... It appears everyone has the M/C hole a little bit higher than I measured for what would be ideal alignment for the tick master - EVEN PRODUCTION 5 speed cars. Now this makes me want to replicate that location so that the pedal rod throw is "as intended".

In order to make the tick master and pedal rod align correctly, I would need to "shim" the bottom part of the 45 degree "wedge-like" mount. I think this may be the best way to have proper alignment and should make an easier install with less fender well manipulation - if any.

Can anyone with a 5 speed please snap a photo or take a measurement so we know how to located the M/C hole? If possible, maybe even locating the bolt holes for the master?

Any help would be HUGE! THANKS!

I´m still unsure of how that can be, the 4 bolts that attach the pedalassembly are the 4 bolts that holds the Brake booster, how did you know where to drill/position the holes for the MC just from having the pedalassembly in the car? They dont seem to have anything connected with eachother, or do they?

The bracket that sticks down between the clutch & brake pedals locates the MC for you. Bolt the assembly in using the brake booster bolts, voila, you're located.

How could I not think of that...OMG maybe I need to get my head examined...I was looking at it and thinking like what tha .... is this bracket thing for? I just knew it wasnt on my old automatic pedal set...Thanx again five7kid

This must be for the 4th gen pedals? My third gen set does not have this bracket. Does anyone know how to locate the M/C hole for the 3rd gen pedals?

Are there support brackets for the 3rd gen pedals that may locate the M/C hole? My pedal set cam with two of them and I have no idea how they mount. Anyone have a picture of this?
