LS3 Swap from 5.7 TPI
LS3 Swap from 5.7 TPI
I recently got a 1987 Iroc with the 5.7 TPI. Instead of modifying it, I'm maybe thinking of going with an LS3 setup. I've been searching the web and have found the E-rod LS3 kit with:
LS3 Production engine
Controller
Harness
Exhaust Manifolds
Catalytic Converters
O2 Sensors ( Four Pieces )
Dry Air filter Element
Fuel Tank Evaporative Emissions Canister
Air Flow Sensor
Electronic Accelerator Pedal
Then I have found the maddog 4L80E tranny that they say can hold up to 1200HP. Although if possible I'd like to find something a little cheaper. Maybe a used one.
I also think I will need this:

Besides all this stuff, what else will I need to make the swap and were can I find it?

welcome aboard! check out the stickies at the top of the forum, they'll have all the info you need on the swap (overall pretty much identical to an LS1 swap).
there's a bunch of build up threads in here, so just take some time and read through to see what others have run into. the big stuff's easy to account for; its the small stuff that'll kill ya and your wallet.
