New to 3rdgen 89gta lsx swap

Hello all, new guy here. I have been building cars for quite a while. I currently have a 93 mustang gt with a 331 boss block, trick flow cnc 185 heads, vortech YS trim, my daily is my 2000 z28 with an lq9 and built 6spd and moser 9inch. I just picked up an 89gta basket case, that I am putting an lq9 engine. This site seems to have alot of info I am going to need to do this swap. My car is a gta, but the guy had alot of trans am stuff on it, the left fender was trans am, right side is correct. and decals. Yep she is a true basket case, but I got it for 300 bucks, so I can't complain. I am hoping to have it running by christmas, body will be finished by june, I want to make the power tour.

congrats on the toys and welcome aboard. you'll find a ton of info in the LTx/LSx swap subforum; there are a few of us (myself included) doing similar swaps. can't go wrong for the money!

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

I have moved this to the LTX and LSX subforum in the Engine Swap forum.

Note that there are stickies at the top of each of these forums. Contained in each is a sticky on the LS1 swap (of which the LQ9 is pertinent). for the sake of data gathering, I'm curious how hard it is to find these features for those new to the Board. We put them there so using the Board is more efficient for all users. Perhaps we need to increase the visibility of the stickies and subforum somehow. I thought they have been much better than they were before, and better than I see on other venues. Perhaps I'm just too used to this Board and can't see it through the eyes of the unfamiliar.

Anyway, congrats on your new acquisition, and look through the LS1 sticky as well as the truck engine sticky, and if you still have question. We're glad to help, but prefer not to continuously replow the same ground if at all possible.

Youd probably have to double the font size and put a flashing background up top for people to look there. Stickies are the most ignored part of a forum aside from the ads. Seems to be true for all forums I visit car related and non
