About to start ls1 swap!!!

Hey guys. im about to rip out my little 305tbi and auto trans and start my ls1 swap. Im a new member to this forum so im hoping to get some advice and questions answered. Im looking into either purchasing a donor car or the whole engine/6spd set up from hawks third gen.
What solutions are you guys coming up with for the wiring harnesses? I know i can get it swapped over at hawks but is it really worth the money?
has anyone done the swap with hawks parts? If so what was the end result like and ballpark price estimate?
Im also planning on supercharging the ls1 once its in. anyone have experience with that?
My car is a 91 rs.
Anyone that could shed some light on what im getting myself into would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to ThirdGen. There is a lot of really good info if you do a quick search. I did the wiring myself. Its a little intimidating at first, but once you get into it and start pulling the circuits you don't need it gets a little simpler.

I love Hawks, but I think their engine/trans setups are a little pricey. The donor car isn't a bad way to go. You will get the PCM and wiring harness, as well as the clutch pedal assembly, if you plan to go with the 6 speed. Plus you can part out the rest of the car and try to get some of your money back.

I started with a '92 RS 305 TBI/t5. Our setups should be identical. Check out my thread. Hopefully it helps a little.

Definitely keep us all posted. Good luck.
