LT1 into 3rd gen

LT1 into 3rd gen
hey there i have a 97 lt1 with a 4l60E trans and i am trying to drop it in a 89 firebird formula but when i have the passenger mount in the driver is off about a quarter inch and my drive shaft is about 3 inch's to short. can you help me with what i need to do here?

Note that I moved this out of the sticky where you posted it. "Pontiac V8" means the heritage Pontiac engines, which ended at the beginning of the 3rd gen era.
And, I moved it to the "LTX and LSX" engine swap sub-forum.
Are you trying to use the 3rd gen engine side mounts, or the LT1 engine side mounts? If the latter, try the former.

thanks i am new at this and still figuring it out! LOL well yes i am using the 89 mounts because they are the same out of 97 caprice i got the motor from.

Thats normal for the mounts. LT1s use one oddball and one classic SBC mount. The LT1 mount will not work, pull them off and lay them side by side. Youll spot the oddball
