Need Advice - 93 Vette LT1 w/700r4 & 93 Camaro LT1 w/T56

I originally bought a third gen z28 that I am going to put the Vette LT1 and 700r4 into (bought them as a unit). Yesterday I bought a 93 z28 with T56 for a price that seems to good to be true, which probably means it is, I guess I'll find out. The LT1 in the 93 has a spun rod bearing. So what I'm asking is what the cheapest yet most reliable fix is for the bearing? I bought the 93 to drive until I'm finished with my 84 project. When I'm done I'll put the T56 and Vette engine into the 84. Until then I was considering just using my Vette LT1 in the 93 until I'm ready.

What I'm asking is how much would be involved in switching the 700r4 that's on the vette engine out for the T56 and then running this setup in the 4th gen?

I know that the fuel lines and a few sensors are different on the engines but what about switching the transmissions?

Would it just make more sense to fix the bearing in the 93 and leave it in there? Can the bearing be replaced from underneath?

Any suggestions?

personaly for me, if i didnt have another car to drive i would take the motor with the spun barring out and install the good lt1 motor into the 4th gen to drive for the time being. i would then tear down the motor and ''work it' so to say.. so that way u have a nice fresh motor to put into the 3rd gen. as far as switching the trans all u have to do is unbolt it and switch the flywheel and use everything from the t56..

I think that's probably what I'll do but all the accessories are opposite so I'll have to switch the assemblies. I also think that the 93 I bought actually has an LT4 in it. The guy said he replaced the intake and valves but didn't mention the LT4. It has the red intake and Aluminum heads which I think is what's included in the LT4 upgrade, any way to tell?

he would have had to replace the cam. Anyone can paint an intake manifold. And FWIW, the LT4 wasn't out in 93. The PO could have installed a conversion. One benefit to a vette LT1 vs an F body is the vette has 4 bolt mains while the f body LT1 has 2 bolt.

So, when you see the craigslsit ads for 93-97 trans am or z28 with "vette engine" that is inaccurate.

Yeah I know the LT4 was only put in Vettes and the difference between the mains but I think he bought the LT4 kit for the Camaro LT1. So what this means for me is that when it comes time to build my car I will use my 4-bolt Vette with the LT4 heads/intake/cam. The intake looks like it is the original red powder coating but are there casting numbers that I could check or something that would really prove it has the LT4 heads and all?
