because today i was taking off the stock LT1 manifolds while the engine was on the stand.. i made a templet of the exhaust port at the head.. and compared it to a round 1 5/8" port and its nowhere near "over lapping" like some people claim it will.
not seeing how this will cause major exhaust leaks.. can someone chime in here and let me know real world experience with these please?
i have a great set of hedman 68481's with 1 5/8" primaries and 3" collectors with AIR that i would like to use, instead of selling off.

Yes, the 79 Firebird LT1 swap uses cheap summit 1 5/8 headers and doesnt leak. Take the gasket and put on the cyl head. It covers

Awesome, because I keep reading threads with people say or speculating about the D ports but nothing solid, and when I put the gasket and header on tonight, it fit great.
