LT1 and 4L60E value?
LT1 and 4L60E value?
I've got a chance to pick up an Lt1 and 4L60E from a 94 Caprice, said to run well but no keys, car was vandilized. Comes complete with anything I want off the car like the harness PCM etc...
What do you think it's worth? Since I can't drive it or here it run I am only willing to pay for it as a core price. Like a project. How many dollars should I give for it?
EDIT: Looking it up it should be a 4L60E transmission not a 700r4...

B-body's are popping up in JYs all over the place. Match a local JY's price then discount a large % because the seller cannot give a warranty like the JY so it's a blind as-is purchase
Max Id pay is $300 complete. Anything higher and it's 5.3 LSx territory

Wow! Really that low... I haven't had the need to look for motors lately and this one came up for $700. but I offered $500. and awaiting a call. Maybe I should just look for a 5.3L...
Thanks!
Thanks!

Around here you can pull a LT1 complete for $150 with a 30 day warranty. Add $50 for a trans. Generally 3-4 roll through the JY every month with a good portion going to the crusher
They're all B-bodys. Fbody and LSx stuff never hits the yards so their price is higher. Still GM built about 15 million 5.3's since they came out, so their price is pretty low comparatively. Aluminum engines and less common/desirable blocks like LS1s and 6.0s can demand more than a common base engine. I still stick to my rule for 5.3's, $350 complete intake to pan with harness and accy's. -$50 per missing piece. Ive had 7 so far, deals are out there if you're patient
