Smaller alternator in LT1 f-body factory location
Smaller alternator in LT1 f-body factory location
Found some interesting information. This might help some LT1 swappers who want to run tall center-bolt SBC valve covers on the LT1 instead of buying the more expensive LT1-specific valve covers or grinding down the stock LT1 alternator to get it to fit with tall SBC VC's. It's a smaller CS130 style alt (part number 10463679) that can go into the factory location on the LT1 F-body bracket. Also anyone looking for a little weight reduction might like this but it's probably 5 pounds or less.

105A though, no way i'd take that over the factory 124A and 140A alts.
Grind, cut and weld, go back to stock vette covers.
Definetly wouldnt give up 20-35A of current for shiny valve covers though

There might be other amp ratings available from different manufacturers just like other alternators. I agree on the 105A rating, it does make it less desirable.
