Racetronix Walbro 255 questions

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if this is the pump everyone is running.
http://www.racetronix.com/RX-FL98-FPKG-2.html
Also if any of you have bought the upgrades like the 'hot wire uprgrade', battery ground, or the pump booster interface connector kit? Are any of these necessary, or just a nice to have kinda thing?

Just trying to get a feel for what all I need to do the fuel pump side.

Thanks

Re: Racetronix Walbro 255 questions

I am using a TRE 255 fuel pump for my LT1 swap. I am also running a high amp relay with 14 gauge wire from the battery to the relay and 10 gauge wire from the relay to the fuel pump. I found the my factory ckt had 1.5 ohms of resistance in it.

I would have ran 10 gauge throughout, but I discovered the high resistance in the body harness after I built my engine harness. Then I went and got the heavy gauge wire. Like it is I should be able to support two 255 pumps if I needed to.

This may be a dumb question, but I didnt see it noted. Does this come with everything pictured? Also the racetronix is only 20 cheaper with the hotwire upgrade. Did you do any wiring upgraade for this pump?

It came with everything pictured.

I was starting with a carb'd car with no pump in the tank. I got an EFI pickup from a TGO member and ran all new wiring straight from the fuse/relay box to the pump.
