A few questions about an LS swap..............
I am getting ready to start on a project that has been sitting for the last 7 years. I'm finally in a position to start working on the car again and I am going to do the swap I just have a question so please forgive my ignorance............
What is the defenition of an LSX?
My plans are to put either an LS2 or an LS3 in my 92. Just basic mods, cam, headers, rockers, intake, fuel rails and a thottle body. I'll also be replacing the entire suspension setup and rear end.
Thanks for any help.

"LSX" is a cast iron block available from GM for building large displacement LSx engines...
"LSx" is the family of LS engines. The "x" means put in any of the numbers the factory has used - 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, etc. By common use, it has been expanded to the Vortec line of truck engines similar in design to the original LS1, even though they don't have "LS" in their designation - LQ4, LQ9, LM7, etc.
Basically, by saying "LSx swap", you mean an engine of the family that came after the venerable "small block Chevy".
