Very bottom sensor? Isn't it a blue wire?

Re: 88 ls1 IROC build

Yes bottom sensor. There are 2 on the TB. The upper is the IAC ( Idle Air control motor).

There should be 3 wires on the TPS connector. Dark Blue, Gray and Black

Re: 88 ls1 IROC build

Meant to take a couple more pics but I got the install completed and did a test ride. Ended up putting the purge and wot switch inside the cig tray and it came out really nice. Ill get some pics of it later. Did a 75 shot since its a stock tune and it felt very.. breathtaking lol. Pretty fun and I wanna test it out again soon when its dry

Re: 88 ls1 IROC build

I only got one right now. The interior is always like this for me. I hope to soon finish it. I have all the black plastic pieces, new headliner kit from hawks, and blah blah. Im shooting for a simple gray and black theme. But before it all goes in, i gotta redo my ttop seals as they leak. Im gonna follow the guide on replacing them this time and hopefully itll turn out good!
Ill try to get another pic or two tmr when i get a chance

Oh ok I see. Do you know if 4th gen door panels fit? It'd look sick with them

Believe it or not but the dash is much easier to make work than the panels. The door panels need modifications and some cutting to make fit. Some people have done it though. Here is a pic of 1nasty86 third gen.

Thanks! Keep tuned, I soon plan on updating and revamping the car yet again.
Built lq9 with turbonetics brand new 7875.
I'm already gathering parts, I'm using truck manifolds (modified) as stock ones don't fit our cars like fourth gens. So I plan on modifying it to fit.
Lol it'll sound less complicated when i actually start which won't be until I get another car and actually get the kit. Keep a eye out come February!

Nice work!! I do have a question about the 4th gen windsheild washer tank. Any troubles or major mods to getting it to mount up? I think that is a great Idea, Too bad I sold the one from my doner car.

It really wasn't to bad. The only thing we had to really do was, on the backside in the middle there are almost two "humps" and we used a heat gun to mold it and push it in to give up a little more room. I can take a couple pics if ya want.
I think there may be a thread about this mod already in appearance sand detailing right now

Thanks man! And no not yet. I might after I revamp the car again.
Idk how it is there, but I'd imagine a ls1 would be more fuel efficient?
Or are you not allow to even do a engine swap?
It's awesome here tbh, after 20 years your eligible for historic tags so no emissions or anything. Pick up and tags and drive!

Nice shape, that spot on TV should get you the $$$$s to do a LSX swap... oh well, if someone else's version is the one shown... can't be too many of them left, in good shape.

IROC- I think I have some a pillar covers, if you ever get into doing your interior. Nice car, btw.

Still trying to figure a way to maybe mold each together so it lines up with the dash and shape of body it runs along.

Re: 88 ls1 IROC build

Nice job with the LS1 swap! I live in the not so wonderful state of California. I am considering an LS3 swap into an IROCZ like the one I had 20 years ago. Still just in the thought process now. Don't even have the car yet. I am going to visit a smog referee out here before I start anything just to see what kind of a headache getting it registered will be. I have the cash to really build something nice but don't know how much of a headache it will be here in this great state of regulations. According to the Air resources board website, motor swaps can be done if all the original emissions equipment is included and the motor is the same model year or newer than the vehicle. But being a child of the 80's, unlike you guys I want the interior stock. Again, nice job and your very fortunate to have a dad that can help you out like that. My dad never knew Jack about cars. My oldest boy will be driving in a few years. I would love to do this with him.
