LT1 Charging issues.

So the LT1 is from a 95, It has one larger wire from the post on the alternator to the battery, and one wire on the plug on the back. I replaced the alternator after the last one started over charging. I had the wire for the plug going strait to a 12v junction.

Now after replacing the alt. the gauge on my IP doesnt change when the car is off and on, leading me to think the alt. isnt charging. I tried wiring a 470 ohm resistor inline with the wire that plugs into the back of the alt. still nothing.

Re: LT1 Charging issues.

First alt likely burned up because it didnt have the resistor inline with the 12v source

Second sounds like a bad replacement. Have it tested
