fuel guage after LS1 LQ4 swap

Car: 92 Camaro z28
Engine: LQ4 6.0L Vortech w/ aluminum heads
Transmission: 4l60e
Axle/Gears: 3.42s from 99-02 WS6
fuel guage after LS1 LQ4 swap
so i got my **** finally ready to drive and the tach and fuel guage dont work. the fuel guage shoots straight to past full and the needle wont come back. i bought a new cluster but that wasnt it. the speedometer i can work with, the tach i can work with but the fuel guage will kill me. i cant drive it far if my fuel guage dont work. any help
do i have to swich to a plastic LS1 tank. if possible i dont want to. any suggestions

the tach is supposed to be getting it's signal from the pcm now instead of from the distributor; did you attach the wire from the pcm to the c100 connector?
as for the fuel, that should not have been affected by your swap wiring, as that is not run through the computer harness. maybe something came loose when you were installing a new pump?

so how do i check. do i need to drop the tank. when i bought this car i never drove it so ive never noticed the fuel guage. i replaced the cluster thinking that would help. are the any other ways i can check. dropping the tank is easy job if that the hardest thing. thanks for all advice

Start by disconnecting the tank wiring harness connector. If the gauge drops down to empty with the ignition on, you've got a short somewhere in the tank harness. If it stays pegged, you've got a short somewhere in the chassis harness.
