installing a fast 102 intake on a ls1/ls2/ls3
for those wanting to know you can install the new fast lsxr 102 on anything 5.7-7.0... the 102 is not going to be too much intake for a 5.7. there are ALOT of threads on tech with people making very nice numbers on 5.7's with the new intake. i run this intake on my ls2 and i have had no problems out of it. however ( I ) would not think it would work well on a 4.8 or 5.3... they make them for cathedral port(ls1,ls2,ls6 style heads), rectangular port(ls3 l92 heads) and square port( ls7 heads). anyone with the money id opt for the 102! its a nice intake and it is one of the best options for intakes.
Fuel rails would need to be a ls2/ls3 style rail.. you can use a ls1 rail but some adapters would have to be used. ls2 injectors are the correct height for the fast intake, but ls3 style injectors and injector spacers from fast will work too.
As for throttle bodies, im running a fast 92mm because the tuning is easier with the smaller throttle body over a 102. Only the fast 92mm will fully seal on the snout of the intake because i had a nick williams 92mm and you could see the gasket at the bottom.
NICK WILLIAMS 92
FAST 92
of course any 102 throttle body will work on the 102 intake i just think a 102mm throttle body is a bit much for anything under 400ci.....
A product called the Vmax velocity ring needs to be used also, becuase it smooths the airflow between the throttle body and the intake. tuners were having a hesitation with the 92's on the 102 intake and this ring solved the problem.

So you bought a 102 and turned it back into a 92 with the ring and throttle body? Why?
Regarding injector height adapter, I would rather run spacer on top of injector than on bottom like most. Putting spacer on bottom raises the injector nozzle and changes spray pattern. Top side height adapters are sold by Fuel Injector Connection.

Re: installing a fast 102 intake on a ls1/ls2/ls3
Well, I just ordered a brand new FAST 102 for my winter LS upgrade project. This fine intake will be feeding a set of AI ported 243's.
I'll be using a 92mm throttle body as well. I'm glad I found this thread, I was unaware that only the Fast TB bolted up with no issues. I know some time has passed, is the Vmax velocity a proven performer or has it fallen by the wayside?
I know the Fast 92 is back on the market, but I've had an LS2 fuel rail collecting dust for a while so that's a non-issue. Plus I'll be buying injectors, and I've read repeatedly the runner design on the 102 is indeed superior to the predecessors.

Yes the fast 102 vs. The 92 stock for stock or ported for ported makes more power because of the superior runner design..... you'll love the fast intake and those heads
