94 Roadmaster LT1 into 91 GTA

Hey people, I have a 1991 GTA Trans AM (305 Auto), and a 94 Roadmaster with the LT1 and 4L60. I am thinking about swapping the LT1 and trans into the GTA, but i would like to know what everyone has dealt with in problems before i spend the time and money doing this swap. I understand that the AC might be a problem, and the wiring harress, fuel lines and PS lines. Plus Id like to know if there is still a painless wiring harress out there, and if it is, do i use my TPI computer or the LT1 computer. And what do I do about the fuel pump and everything?

Thanks everyone, and Happy Motoring!

the swap is pretty straight forward, you will not be able to use the AC compressor except with a modified k-member. and you will have to get creative with the power steering reservoir and lines.

wiring is a pain in the ***, you have to use the 3rd gen interior harness with the lt1 harness for a few things like gauges and the such. i haven't gotten there yet but it shouldn't be too difficult.

you should upgrade the fuel pump but i don't think that it is absolutely necessary for a daily driver.

it honestly shouldn't cost you much of anything except some of your time.

I would also suggest reading the LT1 Swap sticky at the top of this thread, as well as the one in the LTx and LSx swap forum. Everything you asked as been answered numerous times.

Yes, the Painless harness is still available, but it's no more painless than using the LT1 harness and splicing what you need.

You're swapping in an LT1, with LT1 sensors, so you'd use the LT1 computer.

You already have a TPI so keep the stock pump if you want to, it will supply enough pressure. Upgrade recommended.

Moved this to the LTX and LSX Engine Swap subforum.

If you haven't yet, read the LT1 swap sticky in the top section of the forum (it's in both the Engine Swap forum and the subforum for your convenience - and hopefully so more people will read them when they are considering such a swap).

Oh, BTW, paddy - don't go scaring people about wiring. It isn't that bad.
