LSX swap questions
These are just a few questions I have regarding my swap. I'm close to dropping the motor in (hopefully next week) and I've got a lot of things running through my mind.
I've been looking at everyones air intake and I'm considering ordering the parts from intakehoses.com and just building one myself. Question is, what exactly will I need to run the intake from a FAST 78 mm TB to below the battery location on the drivers side of the car? ( I am using a stock MAF and IAT).
I ordered a Lokar throttle cable. How does this attach to the 3rd gen pedal? Anyone have pics? Did you keep or remove the bracket this is attached to where the pedal bolts to the firewall?
Is anyone using the 4th gen dual fans with a 3rd gen radiator? How did you attach them?
I'll probably have more questions as the days go by and I continue to think about other things.

Re: LSX swap questions
Ive been using a Summit radiator with the dual fans from a 4th gen, and I used cable ties around the tanks on both sides thru the mounting holes on the fan. Ill grab a pic tomorrow for ya.

Re: LSX swap questions
I have the 4th gen fans and stock third gen radiator. There's a couple tab looking things on the fan housing that I trimmed off and the fans now sit flush against the radiator. I also used cable ties/zip ties to hold it to the radiator. I also modified the radiator shroud, particularly trimmed off the upper coolant hose resting place. My shroud is more or less just a plate now that is bolted down like stock. I'll post pics when I'm on my computer (on my phone)
I made my own intake as well, and it goes down under the driver side battery tray. I cut a hole and the filter is down close to the ground. The only parts I used were two 90* elbows, one is a short radius the other is a longer radius, a 4" section of polished aluminum, a 4"-3 3/4" reducer for the maf, and a bunch of t-bolt clamps. And a filter of course.

Thanks for the pics. It looks really good. So your MAF is located right before the elbow near the battery tray? Also where did you locate the IAC?

Re: LSX swap questions
I would reuse the throttle bracket as well, as it provides the throttle closed stop for the pedal itself.
Here is a pic of the Lokar throttle cable installed on the 3rd gen pedal. Stock throttle pedal insert used (Black plastic cable guide that clips onto pedal itself) then added an internal spacer (bushing inside plastic cable guide) to provide a flat surface for the Lokar cable end to rest against.
This setup works as smoother as the stock cable operation.

Re: LSX swap questions
To be honest I'm not sure what size the filter is, I just picked up a 4" inlet filter off the shelf at auto zone. I dont know how long it is though.

Re: LSX swap questions
So the consensus is 4th gen fans 3rd gen radiator works the best? I don't currently have either but will be hitting up the junkyard for some and have my pick of either 3rd/4th gen fans/radiators

Re: LSX swap questions
From what I have read on here, the 3rd gen set up is plenty for the swap. The only reason I'm using 4th gen fans is because my original didn't work and I found these at a great price.

Re: LSX swap questions
I'm not sure of the dimension differences between third gen and fourth gen fans, but I know my fourth gen fans cool really well. In 98* weather my car would run at about 180 or less
