LS1 power steering whine
Fired up my LS1/4l60e swapped combo for the first time this year to drive it around. Immediately noticed that the power steering whines like a loud weed wacker lol.
I'm running the stock LS1 pump to the steering box and the lines are good and don't look kinked. It has fluid too and doesnt seem to be leaking. Is this normal, is the pump dying, or do the flow characteristics of the LS1 pump vary massively vs the original gen1 SBC pump?
If the latter is the case, and the LS1 pump is higher pressure, im sure some seals won't last too long....anyone else had this issue before? its obnoxious lol

Re: LS1 power steering whine
......I posted a while back about my pump starting to whine.Everyone on here warned me to replace it.It didnt leak then....and then bam.Pump leaks non stop right out of the front seal.Sad thing is..you cant just patch these pumps up with seals..can only buy remanned pumps.Plus all the fluid it leaked out onto my belt and all over my 160amp lq9 alternator killed that aswell.
Start shopping for a pump is my advice before it gets worse and dont try using thicker ps fluid to quiet the noise,it will only stress the pump more.Good luck

Will report back after I check and double check everything.
