lt1 going into 3rd gen
I am very familiar with lt1s, I am thinking of puttin one in my third gen and carbing it. and I was going to remove the opti and fill the hole in with weld (aluminum) I dont care what year it is. I have a non vented opti cover so I can weld a smaller hole. my question is will my 480 lift cam that I just got for my 350 work with an lt1?

If it is a factory style roller cam it will
If it is flat tappet cam ,you will need new lifters and pushrods as well as a new timing chain set
Thing is ,at only 480 lift , why would you bother?
Not much improvement over stock 450/460 lift cam Popular cam to wake a LT1 up is a Hot cam w/ .525 lift

480 lift sounds like an old school flat tappet grind to me. The factory roller cam will be better. Dont waste your time trying to reuse the old tech cams. If you pull out the LT1 cam, put in an LT4 hotcam.
