LT1 Swap questions
I saw the sticky on the 700r4 but the link was dead so i wanted to know what i need to do to ensure these 2 play nicely also if anyone out there could answer this you'd be awesome:
I want to get the following cam:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-K07-468-8/
(0.584 int./0.579 exh.)
will the stock pistons clear the valve with this cam?
also getting the http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-RP1418-16/ rocker arms
I am using 95 ported lt1 camaro/firebird heads with an lt4 intake port matched.
Thanks in advanced

The roller rockers are the same ones im using, no issues to report, work great!
Are you sure youre using an LT4 intake? They dont bolt right up to stock LT1 heads IIRC.

Re: LT1 Swap questions
I didn't check the casting numbers or anything but the guy i bought it from is a buddy who hasn't been known to lie to anyone about parts and is a serious LT head he has parts for days. When i get home ill check all the numbers and post em so you guys can have more information... any suggestions on a good cam i'll take into consideration as i havn't ordered the cam yet because i'm still researching and trying to learn what the best cam would be giving the circumstances.

Your best bet would be to call up Advanced Inductions and talk to them about your combo and they will spec out the best cam you can think of for your LTx.
Lloyd Elliot is really good too. Very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Give either of these guys a call and talk to them, they'll set you straight.
What are your goals? ET? Trap Speed? Street-ability? HP? TQ? Street? Track? Drag? Circuit? Gearing?
All this plays a factor in the type of cam you choose.
My stock-bottom LT1 is making damn near if not just over 400rwhp and will run 11's when I get back to the track, guaranteed, and im N/A 6-speed.

Re: LT1 Swap questions
I emailed LE about porting a set of heads 6 months ago and haven't got a response yet. So his customer service sucks in my opinion. I will agree about that being waaayyy too much for a stock bottom end lt1.They tend to start spinning rods at 6700ish rpm, probably where you'd have to shift that cam.
There was a user on ls1tech that used that cam on a stock bottom end car, it was still making power when they hit the limit of the pcm, about 7200rpm.

As for that cam you posted? I hope to god that you have a built bottom end, or a 383/396 cause that cam is WAY too big for a stock bottom end LT1, no way it'll be happy reving has high as that cam would need to be rev'd.
IMHO I wouldn't consider going past 6700 on a factory stock never opened bottom end. You start regularly going past that and things may get dicey.
