Seriously, what am I missing?
So what's the deal with Goodwrench LS1s? They are exact stock replacements so they are just as good as an LS1 out of a 4th gen right? So why don't I hear about everybody buying this http://sdparts.com/details/gm-goodwr...gines/88893287 which is brand new with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty instead of a used one like this http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...block-1-1.aspx which is used for the same price?
What's the catch?

Start pricing out wiring harness, accessories, sensors, intake, etc. The list starts getting very long. The goodwrench is a good buy if you've blown up an ls1 and just need a new long block.

The new one looks like a long block, hawks is complete with harness and intake to oil pan. That was just a quick look at the pic.

Not to mention that the majority of swappers upgrade parts. Ported oil pumps, cams, better timing sets, heads, etc. So having those things be brand new isnt really important. PLUS...I doubt the warranty will still stand after you change the cam and other internals.
So really you're paying more for new parts and a warranty...and handcuffs on your performance.
For a bone stock car...needing a stock replacement though? Its a no brainer and a good way to go!
