Hey guys, so we made the mother of all junkyard finds, and grabbed a LT1 with crane gold roller rockers, and what is definitely a stroker (which is probably a 383 right?) crank and .03" over pistons. Problem is the Injectors were gone when I got to it. I'm not sure what cam is in it yet, and I don't know for certain what stroker it is, but there are notches in the bottom of the cylinders. Do I need to know more before I get some injectors, or can I just go a bit overkill and be covered once it's getting tuned. Without taking it apart, where do I look on the crank to see what it is? I know I can just pull the freeze plug and see what the cam is that way, right?

 

Stock ones would work with a tune. Might starve it if your going to see alot of track time but if your on a budget, i have an extra set of injectors i could sell you cheap.

Stock injectors are 24lb, granted its not a 93, otherwise its 22lb. Some after market 26lbs might be perfect for your setup

 

This engine will be only endurance tracked, so it'd be better not to starve it. I see a set of 26lb venoms for $250 on jegs which isn't too bad. Worst comes to worst, we sell them as mildly used and pick up some heavier ones if the tuner says they won't work. But then we'd have to tune it twice, which means trailering it twice..... Maybe 28lb would be safer.
All told it'll be ported and polished heads and intake, short tube headers to a 3" glasspack (so no smog or evap stuff), 383 stroked bottom end and some kind of cam with crane race gold roller rockers. Should be some kind of powerful.
