Transmission question ?????

This question had been posted before but as far as I can tell not answered. Have transmision from 2003 suburban (4L65E). The tailhousing is for a 4x4 and will have to change out but what about the shorter shaft length. Will this be a factor? Thanks

You have to change the output shaft, which goes in from the front.

Re: Transmission question ?????

I take thats the only way to do it. How hard is that? Never done that before! Finding the right shaft might be problematic, maybe should find another 4L60E instead. What you think? Thanks for replying.

The output shaft is the first thing to go in when you assemble the transmission.

I'd find a 2wd 4L60E.

Re: Transmission question ?????

Having tough time finding a 2wd 4l60, so opted to have local tranny shop change out shaft for $350.00. Figured I know what I got with this transmission. Thanks for the advice. Have a thread going that I will post on when I get more done (Father Son 1989 Iroc) Would appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks
