IAT, MAF, Tune? Need help on modded LS1 swap
Hope this is in the right place. Quick background, super clean 91 with swapped LS1 and M6. ran fine no issues. Recently did heads, cam, LSXRT 102 (RT not R) 102 TB, shorty lifters, trundle kit, 46lb LS2 injectors. Got it tuned at a reputable shop, got it back ran ok at speed except never wanted to idle right. Didnt catch idle would die a lot. Took it back got a little better but same issue just not as bad. repeated this about 3 more times, last time ran much better with the exception of now intermitentaly once warmed up and I believe on warmer days above Id say 45 Degrees (could be coincidence) it will idle at 1600 rpms only when rolling, complete stop for a few seconds it comes down to almost normal, about 900 when should be 800. Typical fixes for dont seem to be the issue. Do have a code P1111(intermitent High voltage at IAT) Could this be my problem? Or could it be the tune however doesnt do it consistantly enough makes me think it is not the tune, but I dont know. going to replace the IAT sensor and connector but could that cause /fix this?already paid over 600 bucks to tune this thing and very hesitant to completely retune just to go through it all again. This idle thing is driving me insane. Desperately need help. Thanks to all

all the things you have done have would make good tuning important... WOT tuning is easy, idle and transient speed control (full pedal to snap off, etc) are the tough things...
also when the engine is cold and first started it wont be running in closed loop so the tune for the Volumetric Eff parameters, idle airflow, etc are very important...
inlet air temp affects a lot of parameters regarding your spark advance, etc... i would definately check your wiring and swap the sensor, but my guess from what you describe is you still need some more work on the tune

Does the car have a ported and polished throttle body on it? How big was the cam you installed? I would also check the wiring on IAT like stated above before I replaced it.

Throttle body is the Fast 102, cams fairly big have to get back with numbers. Replaced the sensor and connector. Thought that fixed it but eventually started doing it again. May have to suck it up and get it retuned with HP

Giving every one a heads up. As the weather warmed up issue seemd to completely disappear (weird) Will most likely be retuning it before summers over as I get a 100mm MAF and let you know if any the tuner sees or notices the issue that may have caused this. Thanks

100mm maf seems excessive to me.Id get a stock 85mm truck maf and have it retuned.Ditch the stock ls1 iat/maf setup and rewire it for the truck maf. I cant comment for sure..just what ive heard but the bigger mafs are a pain to get dialed in right depending on placement and housing.I like using the truck maf because its an over the counter/cheap part if i had to replace it..and tuning for it is a breeze, and no more seperate iat sensor/connector where the pins sometimes are faulty and cause random problems such as this.Good luck and hope you narrow it down and fix the issue..without spending a fortune.
