looking for someone to merge my harnesses
I am about ready to drop my 98 ls1 and 4l60e into my 92 z28 that had a 350 tpi and 700r4. I am looking for someone to merge my harnesses together. I have dome alot of reading and am now more confused than what I was before. Of if someone can post exactly what I need as far as pin outs on both harnesses and where each wire goes that would help alot.

Yes I did. And I am confused. Maybe I am making to big of a deal out of it. I have wired up car stereos for 12 years now. Completly rewired my 88 s-10 blazer. And help my brother wire his drag car. Maybe I should just jump into it.

I was a little nervous about doing it to but its not that hard to do just time consuming, should be easier for you considering its not DBW unlike the one I am doing just take your time and get a good solder gun and solder. LABEL EVERYTHING!!!!!

So is it the three connectors on the ls1 harness that tie into the fire wall plug on my factory harness? I havent looked at the ls1 harness much. It is still in my donor car.

Re: looking for someone to merge my harnesses
Honestly, it all depends on how 'factory looking' you want the harness to be. I did my brothers swap and we used all the fuses in the factory fuse box for the swap. Used the relays on the firewall and extended the ls1 harness to route similar to the tpi one so that we could put the computer in the factory spot under the dash.
If you want it this way, it can become tough as there is a lot of thinking that needs to be done. The harness probably took about a month to build, but it looks amazing.
If you just want a functioning swap, I know a lot of guys have created a new fuse box under the hood to control these things. If that is the case, then really the only wires you need are power for the harness, coolant tempo sensor, oil pressure and volts that will go to the c100.

If you want it that way, you are still going to have to use some wires that come out of the c207(under the dash near the factory ecm). Couple of fuses go there like injector banks, a gauges fuse that you can use to power various items such as the trigger side of a relay, and fan fuse.
The best way to graft the c100 in is to get a scrap one out of another car and sell your tpi harness. The only items you will need out of that are the gauges, starter/solenoid wires and your fuel pump(if your car is the 92, the fuel pump comes out of the c100 not the 207 under the dash). Thats for the motor. If I am not mistaken the fog lights, wiper and other things also come out of the c100 so you would need those as well.
I will see if I have a document that we created for what we put where.

Re: looking for someone to merge my harnesses
As Hrspwr said, sell your SD TPI harness. My good friend SELLS SD TPI harness' with ECM to HAWKS of all places for 250. If hawks pays that for them to make money, I can only imagine most anybody else would pay close to that as well. The headlights and foglights do come from the C100, but is its own separate harness from the engine. Two harnesses, the engine harness and headlight harness both plug into the C100 on the firewall. V6 and TBI 90-92 harness can be used and had for WELL under 100 bucks. Just follow pockets write up to a 'T', so to speak. He already has the nessasary spreadsheets posted for your specific application to show what wires from the LS1 harness go to the thirdgen harness and what wires can be eliminated. It really is as simple as removing the engine controls from your thirdgen harness, and removing emissions and body wiring from the LS1 harness, and connecting a handful of power and ign wires together between the two. Take your time, label everything, and follow pockets threads, and in enough time you will be able to do it, it just takes a lot of time.....
