Auto shifter question

I'm going from a 4L60E behind my LS1 to a T56 can anyone tell me what the 2nd cable is for on the shifter? One goes to the trans and I don't know what the other cable does.

Thank You

Re: Auto shifter question

IIRC it goes to the steering column so you can move the shifter once the car is started.

Keeps the shifter locked in park until the ignition switch is out of the locked positions, and keeps the ignition from going into the locked position until the shifter is in park.
