Engine: 68-454,87-nothing yet,88gta-305 tpi

Transmission: stock 700r4

Axle/Gears: borg warner 9-bolt/3:27 gears

will a lt1 cam work in a pre 88 350?

i know i have to tap the pin in but with out a cam shaft retainer plate will it work in my block?
