looking for clutch suggestions
I am about ready to start installing my ls1/t56 swap motor. I have the stock clutch that came with it, but was trying to figure out a suitable upgrade. There are so many to choose from. Anyone run the ls7 assembly ? I plan to do a head/cam upgrade and will probably make less than 500 hp. Or maybe i need a spec 2+ ? any help is appreciated ! thanks in advance

The LS7 flywheel/clutch setup is awesome. Low peddle effort, great grip, reasonable cost.

Re: looking for clutch suggestions
I have yet to drive mine, but after a lot of searching, I ended up buying the ls7 assembly too. Seems like best bang for buck for mild builds.

monster level 2....i have the level 3 in my 6.0l cam build, its a great clutch, just not really suitable for a street car.
its either "in" or "out", you really don't slip it. but, i can beat on it as much as i want and not have to worry about anything but my 10 bolt exploding!

Another vote for the LS7 clutch.....it's the best bang for the buck. Mines holds great even behind the boost and super sticky tires.

Re: looking for clutch suggestions
ok, thanks guys. I am thinking the LS7 clutch is the way to go for me. I usually prefer GMPP over aftermarket when possible.

I have been using a SPEC stage 3 for about 5K miles behind 375HP and I thought it was great for the street.
Never tried the LS7 setup.

I've run a Monster Stage 2 for about 5k miles and can't say enough good things about it. Works great at the drag strip, and is easy to drive on the street. Keep an eye out on 'tech, you can find some great deals there in the classifieds.
