Re: LS1 in a 3rd gen...what fuel pump?

I'm swapping a 5.3 into an 89, and I installed an AC Delco EP381 pump into the thirdgen sending unit last weekend. It's from the 96-98 vortec trucks, fits good and makes 60 psi in those trucks. I brazed Dorman 800-154 and 800-155 fitings onto the supply and return of the sending unit, and ran nylon lines and quick connects to a Corvette filter with built in regulator in the stock filter location. Looks good and should work well.

Those are good choices to. I chose the ep381 because it's an AC Delco OEM reliable part, also plug and play fit, rated @ 50/60 gph (227 lph), and can be had for 50 bucks online. If your north of 400hp, or ever plan to be, you probably need one of the other pumps listed although I understand that they can be louder.

Really? The research I did suggested they were walbro190's which is plenty for most swaps

That the ep381 is a walbro 190? Mine came in a delco box and has a/c stamped on it. Its the factory replacement pump for the early Vortec trucks which require around 60 psi at the fuel rail, including 454's and it was also used in Syclones and Typhoons. Most info I've read say's it's rated at 50/60 gph and will support up to 450hp, of course thats all internet hearsay. I hope I'm not spreading misinformation, but I believe it to be true.

Delco doesn't actually make any parts- they buy them from other suppliers in Delco boxes... Walbro and Bosch probably make most of their electric fuel pumps..

Re: LS1 in a 3rd gen...what fuel pump?

I've been running a Walbro GSS340 high pressure pump from Racetronix, came in a kit that included everything needed to install it on a factory 3rd gen in-tank assembly. It's a gerotor type pump, not plastic turbine, and it's held up to a lot of abuse, starvation, and hard miles. Very quiet also.
