tbi on a 5.3 for simplicity?

has anyone ran a tbi on a 4.8/5.3 using a carb intake and a tbi adapter?it seems the simplist way to install a 5.3 into a tbi car.i realize a custom chip would be needed.i already have a tpi ful pump.

I would think it would be a little more involved than just slapping on an intake and tuning a chip for it. Not to mention TBI can be a pain to tune itself. The easiest way would be to just carb it, you could even use your stock TBI fuel pump.

either use the stock type FI or carb it, tbi would be hard to tune on that motor, as well as youd need aftermarket covers and cam stuff perhaps a dist as well. i think its doable just alot more involved and more costly than its worth. would it be cool yes but i doubt thered be any gains, it may even limit everything.

Dont let the wiring scare you!! Literally only a few wires have to be hooked up and it'll run. Most of the work is deleting things you don't need and making it neat. Once its running, figuring out what you don't need is easy.

By the time you adapt the tbi, custom chip, and figure out your igniton, you could have purchased a standalone plug and play harness from a reputable seller and be way ahead of the game!!
