Hawks Third Gen LS1 swap header gaskets and bolts question
My question is how good are these gaskets and bolts. I do not see a description anywhere on the website. I am looking to buy the 1 3/4 with 3 inch collector headers and need to decide if I should also take the option of getting the bolts and gaskets. I do not have time to call Hawks as their hours are from 9-5 I believe and I am working 5-5 Monday through Friday. I have e-mailed them and within a week's time have received no reply, so I am asking you guys. What is the material used to make the header gaskets? Copper, aluminum, felpro? Also, are the header bolts stainless? Any information or experiences that anyone has had with this please share! It will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance

I used stock gaskets and an aftermarket set of studs and nuts.

Stock GM MLS exhaust gaskets are excellent
Why are you replacing the bolts? LSx exhaust bolts do not back out like GEN I/II SBCs, so locking bolts are not required

Header bolts and gaskets are an option as a package deal that you can choose when purchasing hawks ls1 swap headers. I was more concerned about the gaskets since I could not find any information. However, I'm still running my stock 305 with exhaust manifolds and did not get manifolds with the ls1 when purchased so it also doesn't hurt to get the bolts from hawks either.
Re: Hawks Third Gen LS1 swap header gaskets and bolts question
I bought the bolts and gaskets when I bought my swap headers from them. They are also 1 3/4 with 3" collector. Bolts look to be stainless or a chrome almost (look good regardless) but are just regular bolts and not locking bolts or anything.
Gaskets are a very thin aluminum I believe. Mine are installed so I can't double check and I installed them a few months ago, so I can't remember exactly.
I believe you could use factory Fel Pro manifold gaskets as well.

Thanks guys, i decided to go ahead and get them, and received them in the mail about 2 weeks ago. As stated, bolts are high quality, and gaskets were gm gaskets!
